We have completed a new tool for you to manage your SMARTSite internet sales platform.  This new tool will give you control of quantities you make available for internet sales.

This new tool is called Web Inventory View and has several buttons along the bottom to quickly manage information.  Also, by using the date selection feature you can limit making product available through a specific date received.

SMARTSite is our E-Commerce solution that is completely integrated with the SMARTSystem.  Over the last several weeks we have made additional improvements to make it easier for you to manage and to help your customers buy from you over the Internet 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Two of the new features added to SMARTSite include a “PRODUCT SEARCH” feature with your defined colors or your customers can continue to select Products based on your established categories.  This new web page is illustrated below:

John’s Journal, Issue #7 – SMARTSite features and Sales Summary Inquiry

This week, we have improved SMARTSite features for iPad and iPhone users that will custom fit the screen display to these specific devices. Using this technology will provide your mobile internet customers with improved convenience when entering their orders. Our goal is to make it easier for you to sell and easier for your customers to buy from you.

A helpful tool to monitor your sales margins is the Sales Summary Inquiry.  The Sales Summary Inquiry was developed for Sales Managers to easily review sales orders.  Using the Sales View, select the sales order that you want to review and right click for the drop down menu to select Sales Summary Inquiry. John’s Journal, Issue #6 – Service and Solutions

Here is a true story. On Saturday, January 21st at 12 noon, I received a call from a near despondent client telling me that late Friday their Server died.  A major electrical problem in conjunction with a failed UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) caused their Server to “die” with all their holiday information lost.  A quick assessment of the situation and efficient handling of the problem by the Floral Computer Systems team resulted in the wholesaler being operational again by 6 pm that day.  In 6 hours we went from a completely failed Server and a bleak outlook for the next week, to a new Server and SMARTSystem operational with data fully recovered.  

The purpose of sharing this story is to remind each owner and manager that they need to verify that their UPS battery backup systems are working properly and that daily data backups are taking place to an external storage device.  Call us if  you need assistance to verify these two vital backup functions.

John’s Journal, Issue #5 – SMARTSite and SMARTGraph Improvements

This week we completed valuable upgrades to our new SMARTSite™ and SMARTGraph™ software.

SMARTSite is our new integrated E-Commerce website that creates sales orders directly in the SMARTSystem.  If affects real-time inventory to prevent over selling product, sends an email confirmation to the customer and sales rep on the account. Over the last couple of weeks we have enhanced the SMARTSite to process advanced orders and that automatically create a Pre-book in the SMARTSystem.  There is a built in safety feature to prevent customers from ordering more than 14 days in advance.  If an order is place for more than 14 days in the future, a message will be displayed to the customer that they have to call the office to place the order.  Pre-book order confirmations emailed to the customer specify “PRE-BOOK ORDER FOR MM/DD/2012.  By the way, SMARTSite will run on a tablet PC so you and your customers can place orders “on the go”.

SMARTGraph is design to give the Sales Manager direct observation of production by his sales team. We make it easy with SMARTGraph which can be adjusted to any size and remain on your desktop throughout the day.  It will update the status of sales every 30 seconds. A new option has been added to SMARTGraph to provide an instant answer to the age old question: “how are we doing month-to-date?”  This is a great tool for the Sales Manager to monitor the sales activity throughout the day and quickly evaluate areas that need attention. John’s Journal, Issue #4 – SMARTGraph

Our goal is to provide you with tools to make your job easier and improve your success. Having correct information to make decisions is an important key to that success.

Therefore, you will be given our newest software product called SMARTGraph at no charge to you as a thank you.  This newest software will provide you and your management team with real time sales statistics.  The program can also be used to stimulate competition amongst your sales staff…to see who is the best salesperson. A graph with sample data is provided below.

SMARTGraph is a standalone program that will place a separate icon on your desktop.  It is a separate program that obtains the location of your data from your existing SMARTSystem that you have installed.  It can be set-up to run on a PC without SMARTSystem so that you can display the graph on a large monitor in your sales room.
                           
Once installed the graph will show you today’s sales activity and be updated every 30 seconds automatically. You can right click on the graph to see additional options.  I hope that you enjoy this program and I welcome your suggestions and feedback.

John’s Journal, Issue #3 – New eCommerce website we call SMARTSite

SMARTSite is our new software product for your customers to buy from you over the Internet 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This is your integrated E-commerce solution to help you increase your sales and can be linked with your website.

A new feature just added to SMARTSite is the ability for your customers to print their Sales Orders. Not just the sales ordersentered over the internet using SMARTSite, but sales orders entered by your sales staff since you started using the SMARTSystem. It provides full access to your customers Order History. This is a great tool to reduce interruptions and phone calls that pull your staff from their normal activities.

All of us are very excited about this new tool that will help you better survive our business environment. We have started installing SMARTSite this week and I will keep you posted on new features. John’s Journal, Issue #2 – SMARTSite is coming

A lot of progress is being made with our new integrated website, SMARTSite.  This new feature will give you an extra salesperson and allow your customers to buy from you over the internet. We have 3 installs schedule for the first week of January.

Soon, you will get a new release that provides you back office control for SMARTSite.  One of the primary control points is the User Name and Password for your customers to log in.  Initially, we will make it easy for you by placing their customer number into both the User Name and Password fields.  See the additional new tab on the Customer Table below.

John’s Journal, Issue #1 – SMARTSite eCommerce

Development of our SMARTSystem software which includes SMARTGrow, SMARTImport, SMARTSale and SMARTTruck encompasses many factors that result in a finished product to you.  Often, I am asked about the best way to do things, new developments that we are working on and plans for the future.  To keep you up-to-date on the best way to utilize SMARTSystem features, new features in our SMARTSystems and future plans I am establishing John’s Journal.

We have been working for several months on our integrated E-Commerce solution to help you increase your sales. We call it SMARTSite.

This new product will give your customers access to your inventory 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to buy on-line.  They will be able to buy directly from your website with your inventory and create a sales order automatically in the SMARTSystem.  This can be integrated with your existing website.

What sets our E-Commerce solution apart from other “off-the-shelf” products is that it is integrated directly with the SMARTSystems family of products.  It is truly a hands free solution.

Our beta testing begins next week and we expect to begin installations in early January 2012.  We are offering a reduced cost with a fixed installation charge of $1,000 and a monthly fee of $100 for the website.  Since this is on a first come, first serve basis please let me know so I can schedule the installation of your SMARTSite in January.  You will be invoiced for a $500 deposit.
